Rx/Tx Antenna

Marimsys basically uses three types of antennae, for reception and also for transmission between a mobile and satellite:

Marimsys Long Distance Antenna

This antenna is our own design and it is mainly for marine use.  It has a double set of incorporated antennae with four components and an epoxy sealed GPS antenna at the top.  This combined antenna’s job is to both receive the GPS signal, and to receive and transmit the ORBCOMM satellite commands and reports.

The first version was in copper, the current version is Stainless Steel.  This particular design permits viewing the satellite from the vessel at lower elevation angles, thus improving the range of the antenna, and the percentage of time that the vessel has Gateway coverage.

¼ Wave Whip Antenna

Is an antenna with one filament, normally utilized for radio transmissions, due to its efficiency, size and flexibility.  This antenna is especially indicated for use on overland mobiles such as trucks, trains, earth moving machinery, etc.
