Certifications

The activities of Marimsys are regulated the governments of various countries, and their agencies and Ministries. The approval and certification by these agencies is a requirement to pursue various of the lines of business of Marimsys. Chilean governmental Certifications are indicated below.

The Chilean Subsecretaria de Telecomunicaciones, a division of the Ministry of Transport provides National Concessions for the transfer of mobile data via satellite. This document permits Marimsys to operate the radio frequencies and data network which permit use of the ORBCOMM satellites within the Republic of Chile.

In the year 2000 Marimsys received a Satellite Positioning Device type approval certificate for the Marimsys Modem VMS. This permitted the installation of the devices aboard fishing vessels to provide location information from a secure device. With that information received from industrial fishing vessels, the Subsecretaria de Pesca, SERNAPESCA and the Chilean Navy operate the Chilean Fishing Management Program.
